I made this months ago but as it's not my most fantastic creation I wasn't in much of a hurry to put it up on the site. I made it from a satin op shop dressing gown and an old nightshirt, pretty much just to see if I could. It is loosely based on the green dress from Atonement, but with alterations to allow for the fabric I had at hand.

The plain maroon colour on the bodice is from the nightshirt; and the patterned satin and straps and waistband/ties are from the dressing gown. There is a zip down the back with flowing accents either side, and the waistband ties in a bow at the top to help hide the zip also. Ideally it would have been a backless dress, but the straps didn't quite work, so I added a small tie between them at the upper back. Not that I would ever actually wear this dress. Like I said, it's not my most fantastic creation.
